This was a nice, light, easy day. Castro de Santa Trega in A Guarda and a drive along the coast back towards Vigo to get some ice cream and see the Castelo do Castro.
We were in the clouds most of the morning and I loved the haunting effect it was giving. This is the path leading up to the… two peaks.
This place is an old Galician fort and archaeological site.
A view to the other side at San Francisco peak.
From inside…
Here lies the hermitage.
The mouth of the river Miño which seperates the two countries.
Looking up the coast towards Vigo.
Some of the walking paths were so narrow between these former foundations.
Looking from the bottom at the citania (settlement). They believed there were 3-5 thousand inhabitants.
Back in Vigo checking out Castelo do Castro which is a lovely panoramic park. Toren taking advantage of a bench and the view inside.
One view that captures the water in the background.
A view from one wall.
Just inside the entrance of the park.
A look back across almost the entire interior of the park. Just lovely landscaping.
Caught this amazing design on this butterfly in the park.
