Today we all got to walk around Bled and check out a few things like the island in the lake, the castle on the cliffs, some delectable sweets and the holiday market. Views galore, tasty treats, lots of walking, a wishing bell and a very spendy bit of transportation.
Lights at the entrance of the main street heading towards the lake.
We are actually staying in a little village, Selo, just around the corner from Bled. Here we are walking into Bled and when we returned in the evening we tried to spot constellations in the stars.
At the end of that road we walked in from Selo. Amazing view!
Heading towards the fantasy island in the middle of the lake.
The interior of the small church on the island, Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Maria. You walk in and it smacks you right in the face.
Some of the exposed murals and on the floor there were some ruins as well.
The cool stairs in the clock tower.
Our pletna boat ride that was muy caro. I understand the boats are handmade in Bled.
I can’t help myself it’s so picturesque.
Here we are on top of Bled Castle and this is the view looking towards the little island.

All 3 of us peeking out through a defensive slot at the main gate.
This delectable delicacy is the cream cake of Bled originally created by a chef that worked for the hotel in 1953. It is famous and also delicious. Just stop by the Park Restaurant & Cafe across from the hotel.
I also had this super yummy mint & rum hot chocolate. I was thankful I was walking back because this was sugar overload.
