Another day in Denmark we visited the Hans Christian Andersen museum and the town of Ribe.

Proof that we were at least outside.

Approaching the entrance which was cleverly designed on the inside and outside.

Beautiful landscaping and a very interesting approach in how the information was disseminated and centered around this one individual.

The house where H.C. Andersen was born. There was more than 1 family who lived there too.

A statue of the man himself in a nearby park. Apparently he was quite vain although I’m not too sure why.

Inside the museum there is an area called Ville Vau for kids that is like a fairy tale land. We had to bribe the boys to get them out.

H.C. Andersen’s house from the age of 2-14. Quite small and of course his family lived there with a couple other families as well.

Taking in the park by the statue.

I loved the aged stone and small details of Sankt Albani Kirke as we walked thru the city.

This is the Sankt Knuds Kirke next to the Platanhavn where a big flower design festival was going to take place in the next few days.

Our entrance as we cross into the town of Ribe.

We are directly heading into the plaza of the oldest town in Denmark and one of the oldest in the Nordic countries. It’s more than a 1000 years old.

A view of Ribe Å.

Riberhus Slotsbanke where a castle was built during the middle ages.

The boys conducting races against each other. Yep, I joined in later.

The view from Riberhus towards the old town plaza.

A statue of the Bohemian princess Dagmar from 1913. It’s rumored she died here in 1212.

I loved the colorful stone of Ribe Domkirke in the center of town.

It’s even in the plaza.

Catching the familiar colors of Denmark.
