Well, plans were altered this particular day as we drove all the way to Playa As Catedrais and discovered you had to reserve a spot just to get on. Needless to say I was extremely upset because we just waisted a chunk of the morning. So, we drove to Cudillero and then from there to Gijon.
This is Cudillero, a small but pretty pueblo on the side of a mountain along the coast. I read somewhere that it was believed to be an old viking village once upon a time.
The backdrop to Toren’s pic above. Can you see the fish down there?
A view of Cudillero from the mirador.
A view out towards the marina.
This is Parque Cerro de Santa Catalina. This is the view from the top with the Elogio del Horizonte in the foreground.
There are hot air balloons here in Gijon but spendy and Asher is too little.
The view of Gijon from the outer part of the coast. Playa de San Lorenzo sits just in front of it.
This is Parroquia San Pedro. Lovely just sitting there by the water.
Gijon’s plaza mayor which is quite small.
The other side of Gijon looking out towards Playa de Poniente. This was the 1st evening we actually got to our campsite before dark. Lol!
