Hiking through the Barranco de la Luna Saleres (Granada), Spain
We have been in the pool almost everyday since we arrived, but we decided to change things up yesterday by doing Barranco Luna. It was perfect for the whole family and Asher only needed assistance a few times. I have some blur spots from the waterproof case I was using. Live and learn.
El Torcal de Antequera (Málaga), Spain
Well, it was “some” Mother’s Day, but kudos to all the other mothers out there. I was able to get a pic with each child, but not altogether and we did successfully tackle our hike at El Torcal de Antequera which has stupendous rock formations and a picturesque drive once off the main highway. Shorter […]
Mulhacen Sierra Nevada highest peak, Spain
Thank you so much everybody who wished me a happy birthday. So appreciated since I can’t necessarily spend it with you all. However, I took advantage of the weekend. Dave and I conquered Mulhacen, the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula. It was challenging because it was very long, the last 600-800 meters is a […]
Paseo por la orilla del Genil (Granada), Spain
We did the Paseo por la orilla del Genil this weekend as a lighter option for the kids. Asher wasn’t feeling it as much as we would have liked unless he was next to the water. Nice, gentle walk lots of fishing and of course who doesn’t love the sound of running water. Had a […]
Las Alpujarras (Trevélez), Spain
We spent the last few days of Semana Santa in the Alpujarras in Trevélez. It’s one of the highest pueblos in Spain. With a crazy amount of hiking routes all around. The weather couldn’t make up it’s mind while we were there, but being avid outdoor people from WA we didn’t let that stop us. […]
Ruta del Mamut (Granada), Spain
Yesterday we ventured out to the Ruta del Mamut as it had a baja intensidad and allowed Asher to test his limits. He walked almost the entire route (about 2 miles) but was really getting quite lethargic and less enthusiastic at the end and no longer wanted a skittle for encouragement. There is a circular […]
Cascadas de Prado Negro (Granada), Spain
What a perfect hike for our little guy, Asher! We did the Cascadas de Prado Negro and he did the whole thing himself. There were a couple where you have to do some fancy maneuvering but Toren was game for all except one. Such a proud mommy here. Near the start of all this wonderful […]
Veleta (Sierra Nevada), Spain
So Dave and I thought what better way to get to Veleta (3398m)than using our bikes. However, the wind showed us who was boss at 25-30mph. It was head on much of the 8.5 miles. I have never climbed that high on my bike consecutively and it was brutal. We made it almost the whole […]
Ronda, Spain
Our final full day of our trip we explored Ronda in more depth as we had been here before a year earlier but only for 4 or 5 hours. We found some more interesting, historical tidbits and I even had a lone evening discovery walk. A view from the lower terrace of the gardens at […]
Trip to Gibraltar
Fun Memories from our trip to Gibraltar. Dave laughed at me because I bought a few bags of items that I found at a supermarket that I cannot find in Spain. I was so excited. Gibraltar was really neat with a lot of history and could easily walk across in one day. Yes, Hercules was […]
