Since we had selected a more interesting place to stay in southern Portugal we also took a couple days to just hang out there, relax, explore, swim and did I mention relax? Our place was just outside the town of São Bartolomeu de Messines in the Fonte Ferranha. The owner was one cool dude and the boys just loved the property.

Here was a place that used solar polar, gas and water from the nearby reservoir. If I remember correctly he called it the tiny house experience. Just off to the left is a huge trampoline, sand and play area for kids.

The 1st view straight out from breakfast.

The view looking out to the left. His property is located on one end of the lake.

Toren’s in the crow’s nest to tell us if we’re headed down the middle. The water was a great temp, like a bath, just as the owner said.

We rented this little solar powered boat from the owner outfitted with speakers and charging for our phones. At one point we just dragged the boat up without tying it off until it tried to leave.

Here are some old ruins from when they flooded this area. I think Dave has a couple better pics of this.

Of course, I took advantage of this hammock when I could.
